Northern Virginia delegation heading to Jewish Maccabi Games in Albany

MVP Elite 16U seeking players for summer season

The MVP Elite 16U travel team is seeking players for the summer season. Coached by Theron Bell, the team's current roster consists of sophomores and juniors from eight different high schools in Northern Virginia. The team will continue as a member of the NVTBL Premier Showcase League, will travel and regional tournaments and showcase events, and will participate in the Perfect Game WWBA 16U World Championships in Georgia. Magazine sponsoring winter infield camp at Diamond Sports Training

NOVA Baseball Magazine will be sponsoring a 7-week infield camp for players ages 13-18 on Tuesdays from Jan. 10 to Feb. 21. The camp will be directed by Joey Kamide, a coach with Stars Showcase Baseball and the former infield coach at Oakton HS and with the Herndon Braves, and will also be instructed by minor league players Kevin Lachance (Los Angeles Dodgers) and Luke Willis (Kansas City Royals). Lachance was an All-America East Conference selection at UMBC and is a graduate of Centreville HS, and Willis was an All-Atlantic 10 Conference performer at George Mason and is a graduate of Oakton HS. Gonzaga Baseball winter camps to be held in Tyson's beginning in January

The Gonzaga Collegiate High School staff is holding its six-week winter camp on Monday nights beginning Jan. 9 in Tyson's Corner. The camp is open to players in grades 3-8, and will be held at the Tyson's Playground from 7 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. each night on Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and Feb. 13. Cost is $295, with group discounts available. The camp will focus on overall player improvement - including hitting, defense, base running, speed, agility, conditioning, explosiveness and core work through a variety of drills. Competitive Edge Winter Baseball Clinics in Woodbridge

The Competitive Edge Athletic Performance Center is accepting registrations for their Winter Clinics. The Woodbridge facility offers 4-week clinics for athletes ages 6-13. Registrations for Winter Camps at new Metropolitan Baseball Academy in Lorton

Winter camp registrations have begun at the new Metropolitan Baseball Academy. Alexandria Aces and Prime Time Aces Tryouts

The Alexandria Aces (8U-11U) and Prime Time Aces (12U-15U) will be holding tryouts for the 2017 seasons on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20. Players only need to attend one of the tryout dates. Stars Showcase Baseball Winter Tryouts

Stars Showcase Baseball will be holding four tryouts dates this fall and winter for 13U-17U players. On Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 at Battlefield High School, tryouts for players 13U-15U will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and for 16U-18U players from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. And on Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 at the Complete Game indoor facility in Manassas, tryouts for players 13U-17U will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.starsshowcasebaseball.com

Prime Time Baseball's Winter Camps in Alexandria

Prime Time Baseball in Alexandria is offering an 8-week winter camp and a winter break camp. The academy's 8-week camp has 16 available spots and will run Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, Dec. 19, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 23 and Jan. 30. Cost is $275. R&D Hittrax Winter League

R&D Baseball's Hittrax League keeps players competitive through the winter. Players ages 12-13 create 2- or 3-man teams and play in a 6-team league using the Hittrax Hitting Simulation system. Each “match” is as many five-inning games as can fit into two hours, with the winner established by the team that wins the most complete five-inning games. Games will be played on Saturdays from 12-3 p.m. and 5-10 p.m., with regular season games on Dec. 3, Dec. 10, Dec. 17, Jan. 7, Jan. 14 and Jan. 21 and playoff games on Jan. 27, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. Pitch Hit Run Winter Catching Clinics

Langley High School coach Kevin Healy will direct the Pitch Hit Run Winter Catching Clinics on Wednesday nights beginning Nov. 3 for players grades 3-12. The camp includes a Beginner Session for grades 3-6 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., an Intermediate Session for grades 7-8 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and High School Session for grades 9-12 from 7 p..m. to 8 p.m. Dates for the camp are Nov. 30, Dec. 7, Dec. 14, Jan. 4, Jan. 11, Jan. 18, Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. Marshall Statesmen Baseball Clinics

The Marshall Statesmen Baseball Clinics will be held for players ages 7-14 at the school over six Sunday sessions in January and February. Sponsored by the Marshall High School Athletic Boosters, the sessions will run on Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22, Jan. 29, Feb. 5, Feb. 12 and Feb. 19. Three time slots - from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. - are available. Cost is $195 per session.
