2017 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Interested in a career in sports media, sports marketing or event management? The NOVA Baseball Magazine is accepting applications for its 2017 internship program.
This positions are an educational opportunity for high school and college students, and an opportunity for high school students seeking fulfillment of community service hours and college students seeking academic credit. There is potential to earn income at events hosted by the magazine, and for editorial interns hired on as staff writers.
High school students are asked to submit a letter from a teacher or counselor should they be seeking community service hours, and college students are asked to provide a letter confirming credit will be earned via the internship.
Applicants should be motivated and willing to learn, passionate about sports - in particular, baseball! - and be able to work and excel in both team and individual work environments. No experience in the field is necessary - it will be gained! - but the internships do require a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Sports Media Internships:
Editorial interns will assist with the coverage of youth, travel, high school and collegiate baseball through research, data entry, interviews and game coverage. Positions exist for students seeking a career in writing, photography and broadcast media, with opportunities to gain experience through the magazine’s web, print and broadcast media platforms.
Sports Marketing Internships:
Marketing interns will assist in the promotion of the magazine to its readers through email and social media campaigns, networking at games and events, and in working directly with the teams, programs and leagues covered by the magazine.
Event Management Internships:
Event Management interns will aid in the organization, coordination and promotion of events such as this spring’s First Pitch Weekend, and other potential future events hosted or sponsored by the magazine.
To apply for one of our internships, email jkamide@novabaseballmagazine.com with the subject line “2017 Internship”, include which internship you are applying for, a brief introduction about yourself, what experience you may have, and at least two paragraphs on why you would like to pursue a career in the field. We will begin screening applicants the second week in February.
Thank you for your interest in joining our team at the NOVA Baseball Magazine!
Sincerely,
Joey Kamide
